The fifth Roundtable on the Future of Lawyer Hiring, Development, and Advancement was held April 11, 2011. The discussion focused on Adjusting to the New Normal. Key discussion points for participating industry leaders included experiential learning programs in law schools and increased focused on core competencies by law firms and legal employers. Are law school experiential learning programs developing the competencies that legal employers need? Is the focus on competencies affecting the way law firms are hiring? How does the perspective of a public interest employer differ from the law firm perspective? These were a few key discussion issues.
