The following file provides a new update to the NALP ERSS software as of January 2012. All users should download this update, as it makes corrections to some reports and improves navigation between certain tabs.
If you already installed the previous upgrade(s) for 2011, you may start with Step 2 below. If you have not downloaded the previous upgrade(s), start with Step 1.
Step 1. If you will have a need in the future to run a report for classes prior to 2011, or to look up that information for any reason, you should first copy the entire folder where your ERSS program is installed to a new folder, with a name of your choosing, such as NALPERSS2010 or NALPERSSold. Run the program in that folder to access information/reports for classes prior to 2011.
Once you have copied the program to a new folder, update the original program following the directions in Step 2 below. You will be prompted to update records for any class of 2011 graduates with employer type information not conforming to the class of 2011 categories. You should also review any previously entered Class of 2011 information for compliance with new definitions for the class of 2011, and check that additional questions are answered if applicable. In particular, check previously entered government and academic jobs to ensure that each is entered accurately using 2011 definitions. Previously entered salary information will be tagged as a salary if it is $5,000 or more. You will receive a list of the affected records to review and correct as necessary.
Step 2. Download the file below and save it to the directory where you are or will be running your ERSS software.
When the download is complete, go to that directory in Windows Explorer and double click on the file.
When prompted, browse to the folder where the program is installed. By default, the destination is c:nalperss. If this is the proper destination, continue with the install. The install will place a new icon on your desktop.
If c:nalperss is NOT the folder where the program is installed, browse to the folder where it is installed.
When the installation is complete, start the application and be sure that it is identified as Version 2011.09. This will automatically delete the .exe for the previous version. You should also delete the old icon.
