After the JD III
NALP Foundation, 2014.
This report on the third wave of a longitudinal study of law graduates who were admitted to the bar in 2000 continues to shed light on lawyers' career paths. Key findings of this report of lawyers with more than a decade of work experience focus on such areas as career satisfaction, job mobility, disparities by gender, departures from private practice and departures from the practice of law, and the impact of the recession. The findings of this ground-breaking longitudinal study by the NALP Foundation and the American Bar Foundation, with support from NALP and the National Science Foundation, are important for all who care about the role of law in American society, and particularly for those who counsel law students and lead lawyer development and recruiting programs.
