NALP is currently conducting surveys of both law schools and legal employers on 2020-21 recruiting. The results of these surveys will be published in NALP's Perspectives on 2020-21 Law Student Recruiting in summer 2021. Your participation will help NALP to ensure a comprehensive report with important benchmarking information on recruiting. More information about each survey is listed below.
Survey of Law Schools on 2020-21 Recruiting
The Survey of Law Schools on 2020-21 Recruiting is now open through Friday, March 26. A PDF version of the survey is available here to assist in compiling your data; however, all survey information must be submitted via this online survey.
Survey of Legal Employers on 2020-21 Recruiting
Each year NALP asks you to provide information about the outcomes of your summer program, recruiting, and lateral hiring. Due to changes in the timing of OCI this year, NALP is collecting this information in two separate surveys. Data on the outcomes of 2020 summer programs were collected in fall 2020. The second survey, open now, gathers information on recruiting outcomes and lateral hiring.
The Survey of Legal Employers on 2020-21 Recruiting is now open through Friday, April 16. A PDF version of the survey is available here to assist in compiling your data; however, all survey information must be submitted via this online survey.
NALP 2021 Recruiting Summit
If you plan to register for NALP's 2021 virtual Legal Recruiting Summit, which will be held on June 29, completion of this survey is required for attendance. The Legal Recruiting Summit will include a first look at the data from our spring surveys for law schools and legal employers on recruiting regarding the on campus interview process and summer associate program hiring numbers, a presentation on AI in the profession with Suited, a discussion with hiring partners on the changing recruiting calendar and the impacts on legal employers and law schools, and a roundtable session to encourage feedback and an exchange of ideas about virtual on campus interviews, virtual and in person summer programs, and the changing recruiting calendar. Registration for the Summit will open on April 1.
